After an inspired restoration project, Palazzo Sant'Angelo has recently opened its doors to guests and is now an exclusive, charming and romantic Boutique Bed & Breakfast set in a classic period building dating back to the 1400s. Lori's flair for interior design and Justin's experience in the world of photography were invaluable in their quest to reinstate the palazzo back to its original character. Palazzo Sant'Angelo is conveniently located within the ancient medieval walls of Spoleto and is just a short stroll from all the shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Each bedroom is elegantly and individually decorated with an enchanting style unique to Palazzo Sant'Angelo with antiques in abundance... The spacious rooms are all equipped with an ensuite bathroom and modern amenities suitable for a relaxing and comfortable stay, whether for business or pleasure.

Travellers will discover that at Palazzo Sant'Angelo there is a truly 'Home from Home' warm, personal service from the on site owners, Lori and Justin.

One can enjoy lovely walks through the cobbled medieval streets of Spoleto to the famous Cathedral Square and to the Old Castle 'La Rocca'
with its magnificent surrounding views ... or perhaps just relax in the Palazzo's pretty garden surrounded by the scent of the roses, jasmine, lavender and the old wisteria which also gives welcome shade on hot sunny days. The old stone cellars are now a cosy living area where guests can enjoy a tasty breakfast made with fresh, local produce. There is also an elegant and peaceful living/reading room with comfy sofas for guests to relax or plan their next excursion ....

The region of Umbria is an area of outstanding natural beauty, known as the 'Green Heart' of Italy and it lies between Tuscany to the north and Lazio to the South (Spoleto is just an hour and a half from Rome either by car or train); Umbria is rich in history and offers great art treasures for 'art lovers' and is also renowned for it's quality wine, wonderful food and fine olive oil.

.... Follow the 'Sagrantino' wine trail ... there are many great vineyards nearby for excellent wine tasting tours ....
(Check for availability well in advance!)

There are cultural events throughout the year, especially in the Summer when the celebrated Spoleto Art Festival draws audiences from all over the world. There are many ancient trails and stunning walks through the peaceful green olive groves and vineyards surrounded by verdant hills and valleys. There are mountain bikes for rental off-site and stables for horse riding nearby!

Palazzo Sant'Angelo is unquestionably a special place to stay - unique, homely and beautiful, a fusion of Lori's Italian and Justin's English heritage ... as one of our recent guests commented : "Palazzo Sant'Angelo is not an hotel, it is not a guest house - it is SO much more!"

In the hectic world in which we live, Palazzo Sant'Angelo is able to offer our guests an oasis of calm and relaxation: Lori and Justin are here to make your stay a truly memorable and unique experience of Umbria.
